Nemi Gardner is a 2014 graduate of our BA in Design; last week, she returned to her alma mater to hold a talk on Biomodd, a platform that creates symbiotic relationships between plants and computers. The project was conceived by Angelo Vermeulen of Belgium, and Nemi is currently part of the London Biomodd team.

Permaculturist Claude Oprea, who is on the London Biomodd team as well, joined Nemi in speaking to the audience, and explained how computers can be powered by algae. The speakers invited Goldsmiths students to be a part of Biomodd themselves at a three day workshop in July- for more information, email biomoddlondon[at]gmail.com.
