On 9 March, Goldsmiths Design lecturer Rose Sinclair will be leading a Talking Textiles event on black women and crafting, with a focus on commemorating the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush at Tilbury Docks.

The event will explore key pieces from the Goldsmiths Textile Collection with a Caribbean legacy, and discuss their relevance within a broader canon of aesthetics in textiles with special attention to the discourse around black women, their arts and crafts practices and migration.
