2015 PhD by Design conference

After last year’s success, we’re happy to announce that 2015 will see a new PhD by Design conference happening at Goldsmiths. The event will take place on the 5th and 6th of November 2015.

“The conference is an opportunity to present work and discuss the diverse aspects of what it means to do a practice-based PhD in Design. The conference especially invites designers undergoing or having completed a practice-based PhD within and outwith design departments. This two day event will include twelve discussion sessions, presentations from leading design researchers Professor Doina Petrescu (University of Sheffield and atelier d’architecture autogérée) and Professor Roberto Feo (Goldsmiths, University of London and El Ultimo Grito), peer-to-peer research skills workshops and a display of design research imagery.”

If you want to get involved, you can fill in an application form on the PhD by Design website.

Print

Nelly Ben Hayoun‘s new documentary ‘Disaster Playground‘ is a must-see, and now you, too, can see it- the London premiere takes place on June 30 at the BFI. The film investigates the procedures to manage and assess the risks from possible catastrophes from outer-space; Nelly herself will be present for a Q&A after the screening.

(P.S. As an additional piece of good news, Goldsmiths Design alumna Hannah Fasching is now Studio Manager in Nelly Ben Hayoun’s studio.)
